Asia Pacific Wind Energy Market to Grow at a CAGR of 12.13% from 2015-2020

DUBLIN, Dec. 08, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/xtjvxh/asiapacific_wind) has announced the addition of the "Asia-Pacific Wind Energy Market Outlook, Focus on Equipment, Deployment & Geography: Estimation & Forecast, 2015-2020" report to their offering.

To create the energy security in the developing countries of Asia Pacific region, the abundantly available renewable energy resources are being widely adopted, in order to reduce reliance on the conventional sources of energy. With a total of 140 GW of wind energy produced from the onshore and offshore wind energy resources in 2014, the APAC region aims to achieve almost double of the installed capacity by the end of the forecast period from 2015-2020.

The countries covered in the report boast of favorable climatic conditions for harnessing wind energy to the utmost potential, which acts as a major boosting factor for driving the market in APAC region. While China has dominated the overall market in terms of capacity, generation, and revenue, India will be the fastest growing country in the remaining of this decade. Owing to the high conversion efficiency and zero green house gas emission aligned with declining prices of the wind energy technology, the wind energy sector has gained high traction in the past couple of years. However, high upfront cost of the wind energy equipment serves as a restraint in the overall growth of the market.

The onshore wind energy market in China is dominating the wind energy sector with over half of the market share in terms of revenue. The total installed capacity of wind energy in the country is anticipated to grow higher in the next five years to achieve a cumulative target of 290.38 GW by 2020 by the APAC region. India will be growing at the fastest CAGR of 12.66 % through the forecast period to a reach the cumulative capacity of the APAC by the end of the forecast period. The other countries covered in the report are South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Pakistan, and Malaysia among others.

The key questions answered in the report are:

  • What are the key drivers pushing the market growth of wind energy in APAC region?
  • What are the major challenges faced against the proliferation of wind energy generation in APAC region?
  • How are the new regulations and laws governing the wind market?
  • Who is the main governing body formulating the laws for wind energy sector in Asian countries?
