BWXT-Led Affiliate Company Awarded $65 Million Contract Extension at U.S. Department of Energy’s Idaho Site
BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:BWXT) announced today that the U.S.
Department of Energy has extended the contract for Idaho Treatment Group
LLC (ITG) at the Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project in Idaho until
March 31, 2016. ITG is comprised of BWXT Technical Services Group, Inc.,
URS Energy & Construction, Inc., an AECOM company and EnergySolutions
Federal Services, Inc.
The contract extension is valued at approximately $65 million. In
announcing the contract, the Department of Energy stated, “This
extension will help ensure that the government receives the highest
return on investment for its environmental restoration work.”
William A. (Bill) Fox, BWXT’s President for Technical Services and

extended this contract that has been in place since 2011. We remain
focused on safely and compliantly fulfilling our environmental
management mission at AMWTP while making additional operational
improvements to the processes at the site.”
Under the contract extension ITG will continue to characterize, certify,
package and store transuranic waste for offsite disposal; disposition
mixed low-level waste at an appropriate treatment and/or disposal
facility; retrieve stored waste from the Transuranic Storage
Area-Retrieval Enclosure, and complete upgrades to the Waste Treatment
Facility.
