Castleton Commodities International LLC Announces Expansion into the Global Base Metals Market
Castleton Commodities International LLC (“CCI” or the “Company”) today
announced the expansion of its global trading activities into the base
metals market. The business will be led by Peter Sellars, formerly
Global Head of Metals at J.P. Morgan.
“CCI is committed to investing in our Merchant platform through the
expansion of our global physical businesses and the addition of our base
metals team is a natural extension of this,” said David Wallace,
President of Merchant Trading. “We have hired the very best talent in
Peter and look forward to building an experienced and successful team
based on his knowledge and contacts in the metals trading business.”
Mr. Sellars has worked in the base metals trading business for 20 years,
most recently as Global Head of Metals at J.P. Morgan, prior to which he
served as CEO of RBS Sempra Metals and, before that, as Global Head of
Commodities at Barclays Capital. Mr. Sellars previously worked for 16
years in the physical metal consumption/production industry at BICC &
Engelhard Industries. He also served as a board member of the London
Metal Exchange, Chairman of the LME Copper Committee and Chairman of the
IWCC Copper Committee.
Joining Mr. Sellars will be David Tregar who will serve as Metals
Finance Director. Since qualifying as a chartered accountant, Mr. Tregar
has spent more than 35 years working in the commodity trading industry.
Of this, 21 years were spent in the metals trading business as CFO of
J.P. Morgan Metals and its predecessor companies, with the balance spent
as CFO of other commodity trading companies. He has also served as a
director of the London Clearing House.
CCI plans to expand its base metals team throughout the year.
