Comverge Japan to Implement Demand Response Program With Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions
TOKYO and NORCROSS, Ga., Nov. 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Comverge Inc., the leading provider of cloud-based demand response and energy efficiency solutions for electric utilities, announced it has been selected by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to implement a demand response program for Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions (TGES). TGES, a subsidiary of Tokyo Gas, the largest gas company in Japan with more than 10 million customers, provides energy services such as cogeneration and other gas related equipment to commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. TGES will utilize Comverge IntelliSOURCE software to communicate curtailment signals using OpenADR2.0b to combined heat and power (CHP) and energy management systems in commercial and industrial buildings.
“We are thrilled to work with TGES in Japan as it demonstrates confidence in our ability to apply demand response best practices as a way to help resolve Japan’s energy management challenges,” commented David Ellis, Representative Director, Comverge Japan. “Given the pressing energy challenges in Japan and the impending switch to a liberalized market structure, we look forward to playing a key role in advancing the country’s energy future through demand response.”
