Energy Navigator Shows Support for Industry and Community

Free Software, Training and Charitable Giving Aimed at Softening the Blow of Oil and Gas Downturn

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Dec. 17, 2015) - Calgary-based oil and gas software maker Energy Navigator announced today that, beginning in January 2016, it will offer free Value Navigator software and training for oil and gas industry professionals who are unemployed due to the current downturn. In addition, the company and its staff have adopted 30 struggling families through the Calgary Urban Project Society (CUPS) Adopt-A-Family Christmas program, and are donating to food banks in Calgary, Houston and Denver. Total committed to date is over $30,000.

"This downturn is hard on everyone, and it causes you to think about what's most important," said Energy Navigator President Boyd Russell. "So we decided to redirect our limited resources from things like Christmas cards and client appreciation parties to community causes. What better way to show our appreciation than supporting people in their time of need? If we can ease the mind of a parent this holiday season, put a smile on a child's face, or help a colleague brush up on his or her skills to land a job, that's what matters most. And we're planning more community initiatives next year in all three cities where we operate."

Free Val Nav software and training: Beginning in January, students and out-of-work oil and gas professionals who want to brush up on their production forecasting, economic analysis and reserves management skills will be able to request a free temporary license of Value Navigator. Information and a request form will be on the company website in early January, and free Val Nav training is always available at www.energynavigator.com/training.

Fundraising Efforts

For two weeks in late November, staff at Energy Navigator Calgary contributed an average of nearly $80.00 each through in-office fundraisers. The company's shareholders, Mr. Boyd Russell and Mr. Mike Seth, each matched employee efforts, bringing the total raised to $13,000 - enough to supply gifts and grocery gift cards to 118 individuals in 30 families through CUPS. Earlier this week, Energy Navigator joined other members of YYC Tech Gives, contributing $8,000 toward a grand total of over $180,000 in donations to Calgary Food Bank. Donations of USD$4000 each have been made to Denver's Food Bank of the Rockies and Houston Food Bank.
