Energy Navigator to Present Research Findings at Oil and Gas Industry Events

New, more accurate type well creation methods, statistically enhanced decline analysis, and AFE process optimization help drive efficiencies and improve margins during current industry slump and beyond

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Oct. 21, 2015) - Representatives of Calgary-based oil and gas software company Energy Navigator have been called upon to present research findings and process expertise at several industry events across North America this fall. President & CEO Boyd Russell, Chief Research Engineer Randy Freeborn, and Technical Account Manager Marsha Vigil will each take turns at the podium, making a combined total of six presentations in October, November, and December.

"Our company was founded on the principle that there is always a better way to get from data to decision," said Mr. Russell. "That's why we invest almost 10 per cent of our annual revenues into engineering research, making our results available through our software and through technical presentations and conferences."

Energy Navigator's ground-breaking research in accurate type well creation is recognized by academics and industry leaders as vital to the profitable development of North America's vast unconventional resources. Randy Freeborn, P.Eng, presented a technical paper entitled "Creating More Representative Type Wells" to delegates at the SPE-CSUR Unconventional Resources Canada Conference (URCC) in Calgary earlier this week.

On Thursday, October 22, Mr. Russell will present at the same conference. His talk, "Statistically Enhanced Decline Analysis (SEDA) Yields Accurate Developed Proved and Possible Deterministic Reserves", will highlight the latest Energy Navigator research. Employing statistically enhanced decline analysis will allow evaluators to overcome known deficiencies in the estimation of unconventional reserves that could lead companies to report inaccurate 1P and 2P reserves. Mr. Freeborn will present the same topic December 10 in Houston, TX, to the Society of Petroleum Engineers Gulf Coast Section Reservoir Study Group.

AFE Process Optimization, Efficiency and Cost Control will be the topic of discussion as Marsha Vigil speaks to delegates at the UpTech Austin Summit November 9-10.
