Ice is Nice: Tozour Energy Systems Hosts Event on Thermal Storage Solutions

Trane, CALMAC and Fellon-McCord Join Tozour in Examining Best Chilling Practices

While we’re enjoying the changing of the leaves, Tozour Energy Systems, the region’s leading provider of HVAC systems and services, already has ice on the brain. Yesterday at the Franklin Institute, Tozour came together with other industry experts to discuss the economic, environmental and design benefits of thermal storage solutions.

Representatives from Trane, CALMAC and Fellon-McCord were on hand to present key findings in the latest research. Eugene “Smitty” Smithard, director of Trane Systems and Solutions, opened the event with a presentation, which was followed by a case study and panel discussion with representatives from CALMAC, Fellon-McCord and Tozour Energy Systems. Guests had the chance to meet and network with fellow attendees over refreshments after the panel discussion.

“In an environment where the EPA is tightening regulations on high polluting, peak power generation, thermal storage is a valuable building design strategy to shift electric usage to lower cost, cleaner, off-peak periods,” said Kevin Duffy, Tozour Energy Systems president. “This event was an opportunity for design engineers, contractors and building owners to learn about Trane’s thermal storage options, from both design and operating perspectives.”

What better place to learn about next generation technology and products than the Franklin Institute—a premier center for education and development that was founded to honor America’s first scientist, Benjamin Franklin. This cultural institution offered the perfect backdrop for discussion and learning about the state of the industry and its latest advancements.

Tozour Energy Systems is the factory authorized Trane equipment, parts and supplies provider in the Philadelphia and South Jersey areas.
