Iran, Russia sign trade agreements worth $40 billion

Russia
have signed in recent weeks bilateral agreements worth $40 billion in such diverse fields as nuclear energy, tech arms sales, trade in crude oil, railways and other infrastructure,

media reported on Friday.

The announcement was made by Ali-Akbar Velayati, a senior adviser on international issues of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, on his return from a tour in

Moscow
where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Our contracts concern generation of nuclear energy, construction of phases II and III of the nuclear reactors (at the Bushehr nuclear power plant), of new power plants and railway networks," said Velayati as quoted by Iranian television PressTV. EFE
