MCI announces Des Plaines union ratification of new collective agreement

WINNIPEG, Jan. 27, 2016 /CNW/ - (TSX: NFI) (TSX: NFI.DB.U) MCI Sales and Service, Inc. ("MCI"), a subsidiary of New Flyer Industries Inc. (the "Company"), the leading manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses and motor coaches in North America, is pleased to announce that the members of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters collective bargaining unit at MCI's Des Plaines, IL facility have ratified a new collective bargaining agreement.  This new four-year contract is effective February 1, 2016 and will expire on January 31, 2020 and will replace the previous four-year agreement that expires on January 31, 2016.

The new agreement provides annual wage increases of 2.5% in year one and 2.00% in years two, three and four of the contract.  The collective bargaining agreement also provides the introduction of a premium for members who are Cummins certified.

The Des Plaines unionized workforce represents less than one percent of the Company's total workforce in the United States and Canada.
