N.C. Electric Cooperatives Report No Outages

RALEIGH, N.C., Jan. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- North Carolina's electric cooperatives, which supply power to communities in 93 of the state's 100 counties, are not reporting any outages this morning. Cooperative crews remain on high alert and are ready to respond if outages occur.

Safety is a priority in the event of an outage. If you lose power and want to use a portable generator, make sure you use it in a well-ventilated area. Don't connect the generator to your home's electrical panel or fuse boxes. It may cause electricity to feed back into the power lines, which can endanger linemen and damage electric service facilities.
