CALGARY, Nov. 26, 2015 /CNW/ - Beginning immediately, Canadians will be able to access National Energy Board (NEB) pipeline company field inspection reports online from November 26^th forward. This initiative reflects the NEB's mandate of openness and accountability to Canadians.

NEB Inspection reports will be available online within six weeks of the inspection taking place to ensure that information is accurate, informative and translated into both of Canada's official languages. The reports will include detailed findings, outcomes and any enforcement and compliance action taken by NEB Inspection Officers.

The NEB will not hesitate to take enforcement action if a company is found to be in non-compliance with regulatory requirements.

• From 2014 to date, the NEB has issued 17 Administrative Monetary Penalties (AMP's) totaling $811,300.00 to companies not in compliance with the Board's regulations.
• The NEB regulates 2,117 energy facilities and 73,000 kilometres of pipeline in Canada.
• In 2014, Canada's NEB regulated pipeline network transported 1.27 billion barrels of hydrocarbon products (crude oil, natural gas, refined petroleum products and natural gas liquids).
