Region honors outstanding innovation, collaboration and lifetime
achievement
Today the Board of Directors of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance
(NEEA) honored winners of the 2015 Leadership in Energy Efficiency
Awards.
This is the inaugural year of these awards, which recognize outstanding
achievement in collaboration, innovative solutions and achievement that
have significantly contributed to greater energy efficiency in the
Northwest.
The regional energy efficiency community participated in nominations,
and a select panel of energy efficiency leaders from throughout the
Northwest selected the winners:
Rich Arneson and Bruce Carter, who work in conservation at Tacoma Power,
garnered the Leadership in Energy Efficiency
Award for Innovation for their work with Habitat for Humanity
and to improve energy codes in Washington state.
Jim West, assistant general manager at Snohomish County Public Utility
District, won the Leadership in Energy
Efficiency Award for Collaboration for serving as a model
collaborator for energy efficiency for utilities throughout the region.
Tom Eckman, power planning director for the Northwest Power and
Conservation Council, won the Leadership in
Energy Efficiency Award for Lifetime Achievement. Eckman has
more than 30 years of experience in power planning and energy
efficiency, including a lead role in developing all seven of the
Northwest’s Power Plans.

Greg Delwiche, deputy administrator of Bonneville Power Administration
and chair of NEEA’s board of directors, emceed this year’s event, held
in downtown Portland in conjunction with NEEA’s Annual Board Meeting.
The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) is an alliance of more
than 140 utilities and energy-efficiency organizations working on behalf
of more than 13 million energy consumers. NEEA is dedicated to
accelerating both electric and gas energy efficiency, leveraging its
regional partnerships to advance the adoption of energy-efficient
