MONTREAL, Oct. 9, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The action plan presented today that extends from 2015 to 2020 and includes investments of up to $420M over the next five years to promote electric transportation and develop the industrial cluster includes important and encouraging measures in support of public transit.

These measures further demonstrate the political will and commitment to opportunities in the electrification of transportation.

With the active support of the Government of Quebec, the fully electric bus project has already enabled Nova Bus to develop technologies that help lower buses' fuel consumption. For example, the systems that control the doors, air conditioning and steering on Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) buses are now connected to the buses' electrical circuit, thus consuming less fuel.

Nova Bus is working in close collaboration with key players in public transit to contribute to the development of these technologies and new opportunities.
