NV5 Wins $10 Million in Fees for West Coast Utility Projects

HOLLYWOOD, FL--(Marketwired - Dec 8, 2015) - NV5 Holdings, Inc. (the "Company" or "NV5") (NASDAQ: NVEE), a provider of professional and technical engineering and consulting solutions, announced today that it was selected to provide Transmission & Distribution (T&D) design, engineering, surveying, permitting, geotechnical, project management, and construction quality support services for gas and power line upgrades with a prominent utility company in the Southwest. NV5's team of electrical, civil, structural, and geotechnical engineers and designers will work closely with survey and construction quality support staff to provide turnkey energy project design solutions for the following recently awarded contracts.

Electric Transmission Engineering and Surveying: NV5 was recently awarded a $5 million contract to provide as-needed engineering and survey support services for various projects with the client's Electric Transmission Engineering & Design Department. As-needed support services that NV5 has provided in the past include as-built survey, underground plan and profile design, PLS-CADD overhead design, underground utility conflict investigations, route feasibility studies, cable ampacity studies, turnkey construction quality packages, and construction survey support.

Military Base Wood-to-Steel Overhead Fire Hardening Project: NV5 was recently awarded a $1.5 million contract to provide engineering and survey support services for an important fire hardening project at a critical military base. To comply with state fire hardening requirements, NV5 is providing engineering and survey support to replace all wood poles with steel equivalents that can withstand the fire and wind threats across this at-risk area. All as-built survey data will be imported into a PLS-CADD 3D design model to complete each overhead T&D design.

National Forest Power Line Replacement: NV5 is supporting a large power line replacement project by providing engineering and survey support services for the 12kV distribution design scope of work. This large scope of work includes over 25 miles of underground distribution design through extreme elevation changes that require unique construction solutions to ensure their successful completion. Fees are estimated to exceed $2.3 million for this project.

High Pressure Natural Gas Distribution Relocation: NV5 was recently awarded a contract for approximately $1 million to provide natural gas and civil engineering support for the relocation of a 16-inch (400psig) natural gas line. NV5 will be providing engineering solutions for a series of complex natural gas main installations on a critical distribution artery in the Southwest Region.

Ernesto Aguilar, PE, COO of Infrastructure at NV5, said, "It is a great sign for our West Coast Infrastructure group that we have received more requests for our services from legacy clients at the same time as we have expanded our practices to include more services. At NV5, cross-selling not only occurs between our different verticals, but within and between offices of the same service vertical, and we have intensively encouraged this kind of collaboration in Infrastructure."

Doug Taft, Power Group Director at NV5, added, "Our West Coast energy practice continues to grow rapidly as clients recognize our ability to provide high-quality multidisciplinary services."

"Our effective cross-selling efforts have been the key to our recent and continued success. Our utility clients are busier than ever so they appreciate our ability to offer in-house services that allow us to execute a design concept from inception to successful construction completion. As an electrical engineer, I have benefited from teaming with in-house experts in civil, structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineering to find solutions to complex problems while keeping our project on schedule and under budget," said Gary Clark, PE, Engineering Manager at NV5.
