Connected car and mobile payment apps are intended to provide oil
companies and retail fuel merchants with access to millions of new
marketing opportunities
P97
Networks, experts in mobile commerce for convenience retail and
fuels marketing, announced at TechEd in Las Vegas a technology agreement
with SAP (NYSE: SAP), in which P97 will integrate the P97
PetroZone® Mobile Commerce Platform with SAP® Vehicles Network running
on SAP HANA® Cloud Platform for the Internet of Things. When used
together with SAP Vehicles Network, the P97 solution will help enable
mobile payments and the delivery of location-based offers including
fuel, parking, food, and consumer packaged goods to consumers'
automobile telematics systems or mobile devices.
P97 will leverage its extensive convenience retail and fuels marketing
site system integration and cloud based mobile commerce capabilities to
enable mobile payments and the delivery of location-based offers to
consumers' automobile telematics systems or mobile devices. When used
with SAP Vehicles Network, the P97’s PetroZone® Mobile Commerce Platform
will help enable customers to integrate with retail site systems
including mobile payment capabilities, digital marketing, loyalty
programs, and customer reward systems.
In working with SAP to help enable a connected world for oil companies
and ecosystem partners, P97 is charting new territory by connecting with
the Internet of Things (IoT), telematics, and mobile commerce. While
mobile payments and digital offers are already part of P97’s mobile
commerce user-experience, it now provides merchants and suppliers with
access to the SAP Vehicle Network. Based on SAP HANA Cloud Platform, SAP
Vehicles Network is helping cross-industry businesses to accelerate
their product delivery and establish new business models and revenue
streams.
“We are excited to accelerate the digital transformation of the fueling,
parking and quick service restaurant industries by providing a
marketplace to help simplify the merchant and consumer experience,” said
Gil Perez, SVP IoT & Customer Innovation, General Manager Connected
Vehicles at SAP. “SAP Vehicles Network harnesses the power of SAP HANA®
Cloud Platform for the Internet of Things to offer a simpler and more
secure set of cloud micro services to help app developers, merchants or
automotive OEMs consume and generate new revenue streams.”
“We look forward to bringing our expertise in mobile commerce and site
integration for retail fuels to this collaboration with SAP,” said
Donald Frieden, President and CEO of P97.
P97’s PetroZone solution provides retail merchants with a 360° mobile
marketing and commerce platform to enable mobile payments, digital
offers, customer rewards and integration with loyalty hosts. With P97’s
mobile payment processing application (MPPA) based on the Conexxus
industry standards for mobile payments, oil companies and retail
merchants can deploy “branded” mobile apps in the app stores so
consumers can take advantage of loyalty programs, discounts, and
frequent shopper reward programs. P97’s mobile payment applications
provide consumers with an easier and faster onboarding process,
including the registration of payment credentials and loyalty cards
through an isolated and secure channel connected with the leading mobile
wallet providers. With a fully tokenized mobile commerce platform, P97
provides the highest level of security and support for EMV (Euro,
MasterCard, and Visa) transactions.
