PECO Volunteers Fuel American Gas Association’s Giving Month

In December, PECO employees are joining local community partners and nonprofits to support dozens of volunteer projects across the Greater Philadelphia region. PECO also will highlight the company’s community initiatives as part of the American Gas Association’s Giving Month through the social media hashtags #GivingMonth and #FuelingOurCommunities.

“In addition to providing safe and reliable natural gas service for our customers, we are also focused on supporting the communities where our employees live and work,” said Craig Adams, president and CEO. “We are proud to be a part of the American Gas Association’s Giving Month to help raise awareness of the community support provided by natural gas companies across the country.”

Throughout December, PECO employee volunteers will help pack and prepare meals for hunger relief organizations like MANNA and Philabundance; donate to holiday gift drives and support local families in need with American Red Cross, Salvation Army and PathWays PA, and much more.

PECO is one of 200 natural gas distribution companies that are members of the American Gas Association. In addition to delivering safe, reliable, clean and affordable natural gas to its more than 508,000 natural gas customers, PECO also is one of the Greater Philadelphia region’s leading corporate citizens. In 2015, the company provided more than $5 million in financial support to educational, arts and culture, diversity, environmental, economic development and community programs and organizations.

This year, PECO employees have logged more than 12,000 volunteer hours in the community, supporting PECO-sponsored projects. PECO employees also share their skills by serving as board members for 120 local organizations.
