PHG Energy Expands Product and Service Capabilities with Acquisition

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --  PHG Energy (PHGE) has acquired the assets of ARiES Energy of Knoxville, adding significantly to its established business lines and formalizing the ongoing partnering relationship between the companies.

ARiES Energy, a solar, lighting and energy efficiency company has successfully provided solar photovoltaic, LED lighting, power conditioning and energy efficiency systems for commercial businesses, residences and municipalities in the Southeast. The company is best known for its innovative and economic solutions for solving energy issues. ARiES Energy has developed projects from residential solar, commercial solar, LED Lighting retrofits, Community Solar models, power conditioning and large gasification systems.

"Our companies have worked very closely together over the past two years in both project development and in researching ways to better serve this dynamic and growing energy market," PHGE President Tom Stanzione said.  "Both PHGE and ARiES have come to realize that an integration of our product and service offerings will bring a higher level of service to our customers, and just makes good business sense."

PHGE manufactures and installs industrial-grade gasification equipment that cleanly converts biomass waste into a fuel gas that can be used like natural gas to produce thermal or electrical power. The systems keep such material from being incinerated or sent to landfills, while providing significant environmental and economic benefits.  In 2015 alone, PHGE has been engaged to build new facilities for the City of Lebanon, TN, and for Sevier Solid Waste that provides services for Sevierville, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and The Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

"This addition of resources will enhance our ability to provide customized solutions by deploying the very latest in solar power and energy management technology," Stanzione said. "When you add that to our ability to produce clean energy from waste, you create a very powerful combination in the energy field."

Harvey Abouelata, founder and president of ARiES said, "Joining the PHGE team provides us, and thereby our customers, the strength and reach of a larger organization, including higher levels of engineering abilities.  It also gives us other benefits such as access to construction equipment, and management and accounting expertise."

Both executives pointed to the synergies created between the companies as they recently partnered to develop the project at Sevier Solid Waste, one that focused on the benefits of integrated energy and waste systems.

ARiES, founded in 2011, will retain its brand identity and operate from its current Knoxville offices as a wholly-owned subsidiary of PHGE under the leadership of Abouelata.
