Reterro Awarded Contract for Remediation of Ongoing Waste Stream at Major Spent Catalyst Recycling Facility in Texas
Recovered High-Value Metals to Be Re-Used in Industrial Applications
PLEASANTON, Calif., Dec. 14, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Reterro, Inc., an emerging green remediation leader in eliminating hydrocarbon and CVOC contamination from soil and ongoing waste streams, announced today that it has received its first contract in the waste-stream business. The customer is a Texas-based facility owned by one of the world’s most prominent recyclers of spent petroleum refinery catalysts and producers of ferroalloys.
The project involves removing benzene (a component of products derived from petroleum) from precious metals of catalytic converters. Reterro brings substantial environmental and economic benefits to the location, particularly by enabling the reuse of high-value metals. The corporate customer, which has served the oil refinery industry for several decades, employs proprietary processes to recover molybdenum, vanadium, nickel, cobalt and alumina products. Metals recovered by Reterro’s technology from spent catalysts are used in the production of a wide range of high-purity specialty products.
“We are especially proud to be helping one of the world’s leading catalyst recyclers to maintain a sustainable facility and recover valuable metals that can have a continued productive use,” said Reterro Chief Executive Officer Ferdinand Seemann.
Reterro’s proprietary methodology, features a small on-site footprint and flameless process that delivers immediate certainty in safe waste-stream and soil remediation. The methodology constitutes the quickest, most cost-effective, cleanest and most compliant route to preventing ongoing contamination and unlocking the greatest value in previously unusable contaminated sites.
The Reterro Principle™ is also the only practically deployable remediation solution in space-constrained, highly populated areas. The Reterro Principle™ can clean tons of soil in hours to non-detect levels.
The contract represents the most recent project to be managed by Reterro’s dedicated practice designed to address the expanding requirements of the oil- and gas-industry in the Texas-Oklahoma energy corridor. Last year, Reterro formed an integrated team of engineers, project managers and customer representatives specifically to serve the Texas-Oklahoma area. The central-U.S. corridor contains thousands of oil and gas sites related to exploration, refining, transportation and other infrastructure that serves as the backbone of the energy industry.
Reterro, Inc., provides the foremost compliant and curative green remediation solution for tens of thousands of locations worldwide that are government-mandated to clean ongoing hydrocarbon waste streams and undergo soil remediation for existing hydrocarbon contaminated waste. Uniquely effective in urban, populated and space-constrained environments in which health and safety restrictions prohibit any other competing technologies, Reterro is unrivaled in mobility, cost-effectiveness and speed-to-completion, with a record of 100% certainty of efficacy.
Hedging programs that E&Ps have in place in 2016 vary considerably. The chart below shows the range of oil and gas production for several E&Ps covered by hedging contracts. Pioneer Natural Resources (ticker: PXD) and Cimarex Energy (ticker: XEC) have hedged the largest portions of their remaining production at 85/75 and 80/90 percent, respectively, for oil and gas.
