CANONSBURG, Pa., Sept. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rice Energy Inc. (NYSE: RICE) ("Rice Energy") is pleased to announce its annual fundraising event has raised more than $600,000 for 36 local first responders in southwestern Pennsylvania and southeastern Ohio.
Rice Energy's annual community festival, affectionately dubbed "Marcellus Mania," has become one of the largest community beneficiary events in the Appalachian Region. Since 2012, Marcellus Mania has raised more than $1.2 million in donations from Rice Energy's vendors and contractors for the benefit of local first responders, including local volunteer fire departments, emergency medical services, regional safety organizations and police departments. On August 29, 2015, over 4,300 people attended Marcellus Mania 2015 at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Washington, PA where Rice Energy announced this year's record setting donation.
