Tecogen Announces Repeat Customer for Ilios Equipment

WALTHAM, Mass., Oct. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tecogen® Inc. (NASDAQ: TGEN) today announced the sale of additional Ilios units to Harbour House Condominium of Miami Beach. The sale follows Harbour House's initial 2013 purchase of Ilios' air-sourced hot water heater. Once installed, the two new units will allow the association to completely turn off their inefficient legacy boiler, leaving it to serve as a back-up hot water source.

The Ilios water-source machines will generate 40 tons of free cooling, saving on electric power and costly demand charges for the existing chillers, while supplying hot water at twice the efficiency of the existing legacy boiler and reducing overall demand for natural gas. Ilios's High Efficiency Water Heater, which can operate on either natural gas or propane, is an excellent alternative to conventional water heating systems. Ideal for locations with a gas demand of at least 4000 therms/month, such as swimming pools, hotels, schools, colleges, hospitals, apartment buildings and recreation centers, Harbour House Condominiums is an outstanding example of an advantaged Ilios installation. Fully renovated in 2006, Harbour House is a 1960s era 16-story, ocean-front condominium complex located in the Bal Harbour neighborhood of Miami Beach.

"The property's demand for hot water used for humidity control, domestic hot water, pool, and spa heating make the Ilios equipment a natural fit for the site," said Ilios product manager Stephen Lafaille. "The sale of additional units really highlights the value proposition Ilios technology offers customers." Speaking about the agreement, condominium association board President Allen Scherl noted, "We were so pleased with the performance and savings generated by the equipment installed a couple of years ago that the purchase of additional Ilios units was a natural choice for Harbour House."

"Ilios would like to thank the installation contractor, Service America, and also thank the project's consulting engineer, Albert Shub of FES Engineering, for introducing our technology to the customer," said Tecogen President and COO Robert Panora. "We believe the Ilios system offers one of the most sustainable and environmentally responsible solutions on the market today and it is wonderful to work with repeat partners like FES Engineering and Harbour House."
