World’s Premier Gasification Association Expands to Become Gasification and Syngas Technologies Council

The world’s premier association and foremost authority on gasification announced today that it is expanding to become the Gasification and Syngas Technologies Council (GSTC).

GSTC, formerly known as the Gasification Technologies Council, will now encompass the syngas production, processing and conversion industries as well.

“This expansion will allow us to serve the entire value chain of the gasification and syngas industries,” said Alison Kerester, GSTC’s Executive Director. “We’ll provide our members with numerous benefits, including opportunities to develop new business, access important industry data, learn about cutting-edge technologies, and network with top experts and corporate leaders.

“We will be the ‘go to’ organization for all aspects of the syngas and gasification industries,” Kerester added.

GSTC also announced a special offer on both of its membership levels: Those joining this year will get next year’s membership for free.

Those eligible for GSTC include technology, equipment and service providers, as well as plant owners and operators in the energy, power, chemical, fertilizer, refining, fuel, and waste management industries. GSTC is a global organization, with members from across the Americas, Europe and Asia.

“We’re excited about bringing together the best of the gasification and syngas industries under one umbrella organization,” said William E. Preston, Chairman of the GSTC and President and COO of KP Engineering. “This will greatly expand our ability to serve operators of -- and technology suppliers to -- the process industries.”

GSTC will host the 2016 Gasification and Syngas Technologies Conference on Oct. 16-19 in Vancouver, Canada. The conference will highlight markets for syngas production, conversion and use, provide the latest updates on global projects, and feature the industries’ most important trends.

The annual conference will be the industries’ largest and most prestigious event -- attracting speakers, participants and media from around the world.

“This conference will draw the best of the best that the gasification and syngas industries have to offer,” Kerester said. “It will truly be a must-attend event.”

GSTC has created a new logo and website at www.gasification-syngas.org. GSTC also plans to expand its industry database and make it available only to members.

“We’re very excited about the future of the gasification and syngas industries, and the future of our association,” Kerester said. “There are a lot of great things ahead for our members.”
