Nov. 02-- Nov. 2--By the end of this Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), 19 renewable energy power plants will be commissioned in 10 Iranian provinces, said Jafar Mohammadnejad Sigaroudi, spokesperson for Iran's Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization, Trend reports via IRNA.

Sigaroudi said that 2 of 19 projects are related to wind turbine power plants, one to a small hydropower plant and the other one is related to solar panel power plants.

The company spokesperson added that a 50 megawatt wind turbine power plant will be commissioned in Iran's East Azerbaijan province. About 80 million euros have been invested in the plant and 240 people will be employed, Sigaroudi said.

"With the launch of this plant, which is being built by Mapna company, 89,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions will be prevented each year, and this will result in saving 37 million tons of natural gas and 28,500 cubic meters of water," the spokesperson noted.

A new solar panel plant and one wind turbine power plant will be commissioned in South Khorasan province, Sigaroudi said. Around 800,000 euros were invested in 1 megawatt solar panel plant and 30 people will be employed, the spokesperson noted.
