(World Oil) – bp has awarded Halliburton an integrated drilling services contract for the first appraisal campaign at the Bumerangue field offshore Brazil, as the operator moves to further evaluate its deepwater discovery.
Under the contract, Halliburton will provide an integrated package of drilling and reservoir evaluation services aimed at supporting the appraisal program and improving operational efficiency.
The scope will combine multiple Halliburton drilling and evaluation services under a single execution model, covering activities from well planning through drilling and formation evaluation. Halliburton will also deploy its LOGIX automation and remote operations technology during the campaign.
“This award reflects Halliburton’s ability to execute complex deepwater projects through a combination of digital solutions, integrated service delivery, and local expertise,” said Francisco Tarazona, senior vice president, Latin America, Halliburton.
The appraisal campaign will provide bp with additional subsurface data to evaluate the Bumerangue discovery and inform future development planning.
Halliburton did not disclose the value or duration of the contract.
