Analysis Group Announces Recent Promotions and Welcomes New Consultant and Affiliates

New Affiliates

Eli Bartov – Professor of Accounting, NYU Stern School of Business – is an expert in financial reporting, accounting and accounting restatements, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), executive compensation, and transfer pricing. He has testified on these and other issues in matters related to securities fraud, insider trading, accounting fraud, and contract and other disputes. His research focuses on capital markets' use of accounting information, accounting restatements and impairments, executive compensation and executive stock options, earnings management, factors affecting publicly traded securities prices, and accounting-based equity trading strategies. His experience also includes advising money managers and financial analysts on financial reporting and analysis, red-flag reviews, valuation, and quantitative trading strategies. Professor Bartov has published numerous articles in leading academic journals, including The Accounting Review and Accounting Horizons, and has contributed chapters on executive compensation in the litigation setting to the fifth and sixth editions of Litigation Service Handbook: The Role of the Financial Expert. Professor Bartov is an associate editor of the Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics, and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of International Financial Management & Accounting. He has received many teaching awards.

Jeff Bodington – Founder and President, Bodington & Company – specializes in the business and finance aspects of the electric power industry. He is the founder of a boutique investment banking firm that has provided mergers and acquisitions (M&A), financing, and restructuring advisory services to the energy sector for more than 25 years. Mr. Bodington has played a key role in more than 100 transactions with an aggregate value of more than $7 billion. In these engagements, he has led the purchase and sale of interests in power projects; arranged debt and equity financing for energy projects in development, construction, and operation; and advised owners and lenders on various capitalization, value, repayment, restructuring, and management issues. His clients include industrial companies, independent power companies, equity investors, lenders, utility affiliates, and regulated utilities. Mr. Bodington is also a seasoned expert witness who has provided testimony for clients on finance and damages issues. Prior to founding Bodington & Company, he spent eight years with Bechtel Group and four years with an international management consulting firm. Mr. Bodington is the author of more than 50 articles on a variety of economic and financial topics relevant to the energy sector. He holds Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7, 24, 63, 79, and 99 licenses.

Keith Hylton – William Fairfield Warren Distinguished Professor, Boston University; Professor of Law, Boston University School of Law – has over 30 years of experience researching legal issues in antitrust, merger, and intellectual property cases. He is an expert on tort law, labor law, civil procedure, and empirical legal analysis. A prolific author, Professor Hylton has published five books and more than 100 scholarly articles on topics such as oligopoly pricing, the intersection of antitrust and intellectual property, and damages in patent infringement cases. He is an associate editor of the International Review of Law and Economics, a former contributing editor of the Antitrust Law Journal, coeditor of Competition Policy International, and editor of the Social Science Research Network's Torts & Products Liability Law eJournal. Professor Hylton is a past president of the American Law and Economics Association, and previously served as the organization's secretary-treasurer and vice president. He is a member of the American Law Institute and serves on the board of directors of the Pioneer Institute. Prior to joining Boston University, Professor Hylton was awarded tenure as a faculty member at Northwestern University School of Law and served as a research fellow at the American Bar Foundation.

Robert W. Platt – Albert Boehringer Chair in Pharmacoepidemiology and Professor, Departments of Pediatrics and of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health, McGill University – is an expert in biostatistics and pharmacoepidemiology, with a focus on developing statistical methods for causal inferences in observational studies. His recent research addresses both broad methodological topics in pharmacoepidemiology and statistical issues specific to perinatal epidemiology. Since 2011, Professor Platt has served as the leader of the methods team for the Canadian Network for Observational Drug Effect Studies, whose mandate is to provide high-quality evidence in response to drug safety queries generated by Canadian public health stakeholders. He was president of the Society for Pediatric and Perinatal Epidemiologic Research for two years, and continues to serve the society on its executive committee. Professor Platt is also president of the Statistical Society of Canada. In addition, over a span of seven years he led and developed the Biostatistics Consulting Service and oversaw the amalgamation of biostatistics services under the Centre for Innovative Medicine and the Centre for Outcomes Research and Epidemiology at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Center. Professor Platt is an active publisher and serves as an associate editor of multiple journals, including Statistics in Medicine and the American Journal of Epidemiology. He has participated in several national grant panels, including for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the National Cancer Institute of Canada (NCIC). 

James Trautman – Managing Director and Principal, Bortz Media & Sports Group, Inc. – has more than 30 years of experience and an analytical focus on all aspects of media, including video programming, industry, firm- and product-level performance and prospects, market forecasting and trends, and audience behavior. He has provided both consulting and expert witness services to a wide range of corporations, including Comcast, Discovery Communications, Disney/ESPN, Gannett, Major League Baseball, and TiVo. He has also submitted testimony before the US Copyright Royalty Board, the Copyright Board of Canada, and the Federal Communications Commission. Charlotte Wright – CEO, Wright Resources International, PLLC; Emeritus Regents Professor and Anadarko Petroleum Chair, School of Accounting, Oklahoma State University – is an expert in accounting, public policy, and resource allocation related to petroleum. She focuses her work on international petroleum contracts, upstream oil and gas accounting, and financial reporting, as well as on the disclosure and valuation of oil and gas reserves. Her research has examined accounting issues for environmental costs and asset retirement obligations, petroleum economics and decision analysis, joint interest accounting, and the evaluation of oil and gas financial statements. Over the past two decades, Professor Wright's expertise in petroleum economics and valuation has been called on in support of numerous litigation matters. Ted Davis specializes in applying financial economics and data analysis to major litigation matters, with a focus on agricultural and pharmaceutical products. He has experience managing case teams and supporting academic affiliates and industry experts through all phases of complex business litigation. This includes fact and expert discovery, class certification, liability and damages, and trial. Mr. Davis's agricultural experience includes matters involving allegations that the defendants' genetically modified products caused other countries to close their markets to US producers. His pharmaceutical work includes several pay-for-delay litigations. Mr. Davis also has experience conducting economic research across a variety of industries, including financial services, agriculture, and pharmaceuticals; and analyzing issues related to commodity markets, futures prices, intellectual property and patents, industrial organization and antitrust law, and financial market infrastructure. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

New Principal

Todd Schatzki has a broad range of expertise in energy, environment, finance, and competition matters. He supports clients in a range of contexts, including strategic and financial advice, policy analysis, regulatory and rulemaking proceedings, and litigation. Dr. Schatzki has deep experience in electricity, natural gas, petroleum, and renewable energy. His expertise in the electricity sector includes wholesale energy and capacity market design; utility regulation and ratemaking; economic impact analysis of new market rules, regulations, and generation and transmission investments; contract analysis and disputes; financial valuation; and options analysis. Dr. Schatzki has testified before US state and federal, as well as Canadian provincial, regulatory commissions. He has supported the analysis of alleged market manipulation and damages in high-profile litigations such as FERC v. Barclays and lawsuits following the California electricity crisis. Dr. Schatzki works extensively on environmental economics, policy, and regulation. Michael Kuehn is an experienced value strategy consultant in the health care sector. He has spent over 15 years supporting large pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and early-stage companies with market access, reimbursement, and pricing strategy based on meaningful value propositions and decision-relevant evidence. Mr. Kuehn's expertise includes early market access and pricing assessments, payer value propositions, and payer-rationalized clinical trial design. He is also well versed in more tactical market access and pricing launch strategy with US and global geographic scopes. Mr. Kuehn's work primarily covers oncology, inflammatory diseases, and other specialty therapeutic areas. In particular, he focuses on translating scientific evidence into relatable information for decision makers in market access and pricing.
