NGL production allows flexibility

Antero Resources (ticker: AR) announced fourth quarter results and reserves today, showing a net loss of $122 million, or ($0.39) per share.

This result falls well short of the $487 million the company earned in Q4 2017, but after impairments and other special charges are excluded Antero earned $145 million in Q4 2018.

The company produced an average of 3.21 Bcfe/d in the quarter, up 18% sequentially and 37% year-over-year. While Antero is a major Appalachian producer, they are in large part focused on NGL production, not natural gas. While Antero is the fifth-largest gas producer in the country, it is the largest NGL producer in the U.S.
