AP Gas & Electric Reaches Out To Gravely Ill Children Showing True Meaning Of Christmas

HOUSTON, Dec. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Bringing hope to gravely ill children at Christmas time is a very tall order. Houston power company, AP Gas & Electric (TX) LLC, took on this challenge by collecting and delivering toys to some of the smallest Houstonians that will be spending their Christmas in Texas Children's Hospital.

"We wanted to give back to the city in a unique way," said Lori Vehmas-Falkin, Director of Marketing for APG&E. "These children often have different needs, so we worked to collect the right toys for their specific situations," she continued.

The toys were donated by employees of APG&E, and staff spent their time on several floors delivering coloring books, crayons, markers, puzzles and Legos to children on several of the floors throughout the hospital. "It's horrible to think of a child having to spend their Christmas in the hospital," said Vehmas-Falkin.  APG&E wanted to make a difference and help these very special children have a positive and memorable Christmas.

"As we look forward to 2016, APG&E is committed to supporting the customers and their community, and this is just one example," concluded Vehmas-Falkin.
