Apache Corporation (ticker: APA) said that the EVP of corporate reservoir engineering, Kregg Olson, plans to retire on August 1, 2018.
Apache CEO and President John J. Christmann IV said, “Kregg’s expertise and leadership have been a tremendous asset to Apache during his 26 years with the company. On behalf of the board and all Apache employees, I want to thank Kregg for his many contributions and wish him all the best in retirement.”
Dave Pursell, who is currently SVP of planning and market fundamentals, will assume responsibility for the corporate reservoir engineering department upon Olson’s retirement, the company said.
Before joining Apache in early 2018, Pursell served as managing director of investment banking for Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. Before that, he served as head of Macro Research and was one of the founders of Pickering Energy Partners, Inc. Pursell served previously as director of upstream research at Simmons & Company International.
Strategic Oil & Gas Ltd. plans smooth transition
Tony Berthelet will be joining Strategic Oil & Gas Ltd. (ticker: SOG) as president and CEO. Berthlet will also join the board of directors on May 21, 2018.
Berthelet most recently served as VP of development and operations with an intermediate, publicly-traded oil and gas company in Calgary. During his tenure, Berthelet led a technical team of 200 field and office staff responsible for light oil, heavy oil and waterflood development of various assets across Alberta.
Cody Smith, the current COO and interim CEO of Strategic, will continue with the company in his role as COO.
