Breakdown by region
Of the regions tracked by Baker Hughes, two regions saw an increase this week; the Mississippian basin saw an increase of 1 rig this week, and the Utica 2 rigs from from 11 to 13.
Meanwhile, 6 regions experienced a decrease this week:
- The Ardmore Woodford is at 0, down 1 from last week.
- The Cana Woodford is at 28, down 1 from last week.
- The DJ-Niobrara is at 21, down 1 from last week.
- The Marcellus is at 37, down 3 from last week.
- The Permian is at 408, down 4 from last week.
- The Williston is at 51, down 1 from last week.
All other regions saw no net change in the active rig count.
