U.S. rig count decreased by 2 is at 536

This week’s Baker Hughes Rig Count shows that the U.S. decreased by 2 last week, resulting in a total count of 536 rigs. Canada had a decrease of 5 over last week, resulting in a total Canadian count of 175 rigs.

Breakdown by region

Of the regions tracked by Baker Hughes, the Arkoma Woodford and the Cana Woodford regions experienced an increase this week.

Meanwhile, 3 regions experienced a decrease this week:

• The Granite Wash is at 14, down 1.
• The Haynesville is at 39, down 1.
• The Williston is at 29, down 1.

All other regions saw no net change in the active rig count.
