Bonneville Power Administration Selects Cascade Energy for Continued Delivery of the Energy Smart Industrial Program

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - October 12, 2015) - Cascade Energy, Inc. is proud to announce that it has been selected by the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) to continue to implement BPA's award-winning Energy Smart Industrial (ESI) program, which has helped over 650 Northwest industrial companies save energy and reduce operating costs.

"Cascade Energy has brought unparalleled experience and know-how to the ESI program, from strategic planning to industrial process optimization to system fine-tuning," said Jennifer Eskil, industrial sector lead at BPA. "We have more than 90 percent participation among public utilities, which is a testament to the value of this program to industrial customers and their utilities."

In 2009, Cascade partnered with BPA to design a new regional industrial energy efficiency program. To date, BPA and 113 Northwest publicly owned electric utilities have completed over a thousand projects in a variety of market segments, including food processing, pulp and paper, wood products, advanced technology, water/wastewater and mining. Through ESI, facilities have collectively saved nearly 100 average megawatts of electricity -- enough energy to power about 73,000 homes for a year.

Now in its seventh year, the ESI program continues to work through BPA's utility customers to provide a variety of resources to help industrial customers in the region implement energy efficiency. These resources include providing technical expertise and other assistance to maximize energy savings efforts, energy management through operations and maintenance, improved lighting savings, and other measures.

Cascade looks forward to continuing its partnership with BPA and offering this flexible and innovative program to help its utilities and their industrial customers achieve their energy efficiency goals.

Marcus Wilcox, Cascade CEO, said, "We are grateful for this opportunity to continue partnering with BPA and their utility customers. ESI's accomplishments are the result of strong collaboration, forward thinking, and a focus on seeking shared success with all stakeholders. Our intention will continue to be on making the program better every day. A thriving manufacturing sector is important, and ESI helps make that happen."
