Biodico Inc. will welcome clean energy entrepreneurs to its Zero Net Energy Farm in California’s San Joaquin Valley on Wednesday, Nov. 9 as part of outreach efforts to drive innovation in a state where Governor Jerry Brown recently passed landmark climate legislation.

Biodico was awarded a $1.2 million grant by the California Energy Commission to develop its “Zero Net Energy Farm,” which would enable farms to generate all electrical and heating power needs from on-site renewable resources, while reducing greenhouse gas footprints.

“The time is now for clean energy entrepreneurs to band together and help each other drive innovation in a state that is serving as an example for the rest of the nation in developing technology that is good for the economy, environment and local communities,” said Biodico President and Founder Russ Teall. “The San Joaquin Valley is suffering from high levels of air pollution and soaring unemployment rates, so it is an ideal region to create practical clean energy solutions that can be replicated elsewhere.”

The tour of Biodico’s Zero Net Energy facility will consist of members of the San Joaquin Valley Clean Energy Cluster, which is affiliated with California State University, Fresno.

Following the tour, Biodico will host a conference call to discuss its Zero Net Energy Farm. The public is welcome to listen to the call by dialing +1 (408) 650-3123 and access code 671-089-533. Listeners are also welcome to join by visiting http://bit.ly/futurefarmnow. Please note, the conference call is a first-come-first-serve basis, and 50 lines will be able to join the call.

Conference call participants are encouraged to ask questions via Twitter utilizing the hashtag “#zeronetenergyfarm”. Alternatively, the public may submit questions via email to epondel@pondel.com.
