CCAGW Supports Gov. Rick Perry for Secretary of Energy
The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) sent a letter
to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee today, expressing
its support for former Texas Governor Rick Perry to be the next
Secretary of Energy. The letter reads:
“Your committee will soon consider the nomination of Gov. James Richard
“Rick” Perry to become the Secretary of Energy. On behalf of the more
than one million members and supporters of the Council for Citizens
Against Government Waste (CCAGW), I strongly support Gov. Perry’s
confirmation to this post.
Gov. Perry has the executive experience of leading Texas, the largest
energy-producing state in the country, for three consecutive terms over
14 years. He is a fiscal conservative and a tireless advocate for
transparency and accountability in government. In a positive development
compared to the last eight years, Gov. Perry will bring a balanced
approach to U.S. energy policy.
Gov. Perry is the right choice to lead the U.S. Department of Energy,
and I urge you to vote for his confirmation.”
The
Council for Citizens Against Government Waste is the lobbying arm of
Citizens Against Government Waste, the nation’s largest nonpartisan,
nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and
mismanagement in government.
