From The Houston Chronicle

The Port of Corpus Christi reported record amounts of shipments in the third quarter of 2018.

The Port of Corpus Christi has broken a tonnage record set in 2015, with growing crude oil and fuels exports driving much of the growth.

The port said 79.3 million tons of goods were shipped into and out of the port in the first nine months of the year, up 1.8 percent from the previous record of 77.9 million tons shipped during the same period in 2015.

The port said crude oil tonnage increased 11 percent, while other petroleum products, which include gasoline and diesel, increased 8 percent.

More crude oil is flowing out of the U.S. than ever before, with exports hitting 2.2 million barrels a day in June. Exports are expected to increase to 4 million barrels a day by 2020.
