Department of Energy Selects Southland Energy for Energy Savings Performance Contract

Southland Energy, a division of Southland Industries, was recently awarded an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) by the Department of Energy’s Federal Energy Management Program. The contract is awarded to energy services companies (ESCOs) that provide guaranteed cost savings as a result of privately financed energy and water infrastructure improvements to federal facilities, without the need for additional congressional appropriations. As part of the twenty-two businesses awarded this contract, Southland Energy can implement energy and water efficiency projects for all federal government agencies.

“Southland Energy is honored to be working with the Department of Energy’s Federal Energy Management Program to help achieve energy efficiency and security for the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. With Southland Energy’s extensive performance-based energy efficiency experience and Southland Industries’ 68-year history of engineering, construction, service, and energy service solutions, we are well positioned to bring innovation and excellence to the federal government, while saving energy and reducing costs,” stated Vice President of Southland Energy Anthony Roner.

With the ability to contract directly with the federal government, Southland Energy will help government agencies meet their mandated energy reduction and renewable energy goals, as well as enhance existing facility infrastructure, and achieve energy security.
