E.ON UK Wins Customer Engagement Award with Opower Platform-Based Saving Energy Toolkit

E.ON highlighted as industry leader at 7th European & UK Smart Energy Summit

Opower, the global leader in cloud-based software for the utility industry, today announced that energy company and key Opower client, E.ON UK, has won the Customer Engagement Award at the 7th Annual European Smart Energy Summit. The award is in recognition of the companies’ work to enhance customer relationships and overall experience with the Saving Energy Toolkit.

Opower first joined forces with E.ON in 2012 to transform its digital customer engagement for 4.5 million households in the U.K.

E.ON’s Saving Energy Toolkit, powered by Opower’s digital engagement platform and Big Data analytics, provides customers with personalized overviews of their energy usage and how it compares to neighbors, along with tailored strategies to make their homes more energy efficient. E.ON implemented an ‘always on’ model, tapping into critical moments that matter most for energy customers through enhanced, proactive digital communications.

The program’s success was demonstrated in part by an increase in E.ON’s net promoter score (NPS), showing improved customer satisfaction and willingness to recommend the program to family and friends.
