Bill Barrett Corporation Breakout Notes
Scot Woodall, CEO of Bill Barrett Corp., (ticker: BBG) presented today at EnerCom’s The Oil & Gas Conference® 22.
Bill Barrett Corporation has core acreage in the DJ basin in Colorado and the Uinta basin in Utah. BBG is pursuing the majority of its growth through the development of its contiguous DJ acreage.
The company ran one drilling rig during the majority of Q2, 2017—and added a second in June. It completed four extended reach laterals and ten mid-reach laterals in its DJ assets, and another nine wells in the Uinta basin oil program, where it is evaluating development potential in the basin.
During the company’s breakout session, management was asked the following questions:
- Is there any concern that the political environment in Colorado would turn against any operators given the accidents that recently occurred?
- What is the optimal well spacing in Niobrara?
- Could you give us an update on your interest on monetizing your Utah assets?
- What type of acreage addition would you be looking after for the next half of the year?
- Do you plan to try larger amounts of frac-sand?
