Energy XXI Gulf Coast, Inc. (ticker: EGC) appointed Gary C. Hanna as chairman of its board of directors, effective March 29, 2018.

EGC CEO and President Douglas E. Brooks pointed to Hanna’s extensive senior executive and board experience at exploration and production companies operating offshore and onshore, and with the plugging and abandonment sector of the oil field services industry. “Gary’s service as Chief Executive Officer of EPL Oil & Gas, Inc., a significant player in the Gulf of Mexico, as it emerged from bankruptcy until its acquisition by EGC in 2014, gives him deep knowledge and a substantial understanding of a large portion of our assets. This experience will be welcome as we pursue our strategy recently implemented with the beginning of our 2018 drilling program,” Brooks said.

Hanna serves as Chairman of the Board for Rosehill Resources, and he has served as a member of the boards of directors of Hercules Offshore, Inc. and Aspire Holdings Corp. Hanna was CEO and chairman of KLR Energy from 2015 to 2017. Hanna holds a B.B.A. in Economics from the University of Oklahoma.

EGC said that former Chairman Michael Reddin decided to not stand for re-election following the end of this term, as had been previously announced. He will remain on the board until EGC’s upcoming annual meeting of stockholders.

Energy XXI Gulf Coast works in the U.S. Gulf coast region, offshore and onshore, in Louisiana and Texas.
