Boston, US, June 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- enVerid Systems, a leader in energy efficiency and air quality for buildings, announced today it has been named a winner of Red Herring’s 2018 Top 100 North America Award, which recognizes the continent’s most exciting and innovative private technology companies.

Thousands of companies were judged by industry experts, insiders and journalists on a wide variety of criteria including financial performance, innovation, business strategy and market penetration. Winners ran the gamut of verticals from proptech and cleantech to security and IoT and many more.

“2018’s crop of Top 100 winners has been among our most intriguing yet,” said Alex Vieux, Chairman of Red Herring and CEO of Herring International.  “Some of the technical wizardry and first-rate business models on show here at the conference have been fantastic to learn about. We believe enVerid embodies the drive, skill and passion on which tech thrives. enVerid should be proud of its achievement: the competition was incredibly strong.”

OurCrowd CEO Jon Medved said, “enVerid will soon be a unicorn company because it is focused on one of the biggest unsolved problems in the world: air quality. With their space station-derived technology, they will provide us all with better air to breathe at work and at home, while using far less energy. It doesn’t get better than that.”

enVerid Systems stood out due to its revolutionary HVAC Load Reduction® (HLR) technology that fundamentally changes HVAC designs in commercial buildings. Legacy HVAC designs rely on massive volumes of outside airflow to maintain indoor air quality, resulting in oversized equipment and a 30-50% waste in HVAC energy consumption.  This waste, which represents a significant portion of the global energy footprint, is eliminated when using HLR technology.  HLR modules clean a building’s indoor air such that very little outside air ventilation is required and smaller, less expensive HVAC equipment can be used.  A US Department of Energy study ranked HLR modules as one of the top three HVAC energy saving technologies for commercial buildings.

HLR systems scrub indoor air of harmful contaminants such as carbon dioxide and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This air scrubbing, along with the reduced intake of outdoor pollution, improves indoor air quality within buildings. Good indoor air quality is extremely important to building occupant health and has been linked in many research studies to enhanced productivity and cognitive performance. enVerid recognizes the importance of air quality and has developed the HLR system so that IAQ can be continuously monitored on the enVerid Cloud using Internet of Things (IoT) technology.

“We are honored to have been named a Red Herring Top 100 North America winner,” said Udi Meirav, CEO of enVerid Systems. “Using enVerid technology, customers are creating superior buildings without having to spend any extra in their construction and renovation projects.  This award is a testament to our impact on buildings, energy savings, the environment and air quality.”

enVerid HLR technology also recently won BUILDINGS Magazine Money-Saving Product Award and was a global finalist in the Future Planet Awards. Following enVerid’s Red Herring Top 100 win, it is invited to showcase itself at the Top 100 Global event in October.
