InPlay Oil Corporation: a 4,000 BOPD producer involved in two of the most exciting plays in Western Canada

At its recent 2017 The Oil & Gas Conference®, EnerCom’s Oil & Gas 360® conducted an exclusive video interview with InPlay Oil President & CEO Douglas Bartole.

InPlay’s Cardium assets in West Central Alberta are focused in the Pembina and Willesden Green pools. Even though they have been extensively developed over many years through vertical drilling and waterflooding there are large reserves of unrecovered oil. InPlay is backstopped by vintage production which is supported by long-term waterfloods serving as a stable base of low decline production. The advent of horizontal multi-frac wells enables the recovery of oil that would otherwise not be recovered through vertical wells. At year end 2016 Cardium accounted for 70% of InPlay’s production.

InPlay is an early participant in an evolving Duvernay light oil play that offers potential material upside over the mid- to long term. Additionally the company’s Belly River assets target the Pembina Cardium Pool. A large portion of this production is supported by waterflood providing a low decline asset with low capital requirements to maintain production. This provides significant free cash flow for InPlay.
