Franklin Energy Signs Contracts with New York Utilities

Franklin Energy Services, LLC, a leading national energy efficiency program implementation firm, announced today that it has signed a contract with New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) – both electric and gas utilities and subsidiaries of AVANGRID.

Franklin Energy will manage and implement cost-effective Multifamily Programs and Commercial and Industrial Rebate Programs for both utility companies. A new office will be opened in Rochester, NY to implement the programs and continue Franklin Energy’s expansion into the Northeast U.S.

“We’ve already commenced start-up activities and developed strategies to ensure NYSEG and RG&E reach their goals,” said Mark Bowen, Franklin Energy Services VP of Business Development. “Both utilities are new clients in a new state for our firm. We know the northeast region and its customers well. As we continue to expand our reach, we show time and again that Franklin Energy is the industry expert that utilities can count on for their cost saving goals.”

“On top of our services, our customizable technology suite, Efficiency@Work, caps off our clients’ customer experience and satisfaction,” said Kevin McDonough, Franklin Energy Services President. “Based on the needs of NYSEG and RG&E, we built an integrated solution utilizing three of our four applications. We’re one of the only providers that designs every component of the program around the client’s parameters and customer needs – that includes our technologies.”

Combined, NYSEG and RG&E serve more than 1.2 million electricity customers and more than 575,000 natural gas customers. Franklin Energy has begun program outreach and delivery.
