Frontier Utilities Jumps from #31 to #7 on the 2015 Cougar 100 List

Frontier Utilities (frontierutilities.com) has been named to the Cougar 100 by University of Houston and ranks seventh among the most successful companies owned by University of Houston alumni. The award was presented at an announcement luncheon on October 27, 2015.

This is University of Houston’s second annual Cougar 100, ranked by percentage of compound annual growth in sales or revenue. Frontier Utilities ranked 31 in 2014 and moved to seventh in 2015 based on significant growth and profitability over the past year.

Frontier Utilities is led by University of Houston alumni Jay Hellums, who graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance in 1984 and later earned a Master of Business Administration from Rice University. Hellums has served as the company’s president since 2012 and is recognized as a proven business builder with a track record of executing ambitious growth strategies. Under his direction, Houston-based Frontier Utilities has experienced compounded annual growth in revenues of more than 154% per year and is expected to top $70 million this year.
