Hagerty Launches 'The Barn Find Hunter' Series, Presented By Shell And Quaker State

Barn finds continue to be one of the hottest trends in the classic car market

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., March 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- "The Barn Find Hunter" is a 10-episode Web series airing on Hagerty's YouTube Channel (Barn Find Hunter- Episode 1) featuring The Cobra in the Barn author Tom Cotter. The series will follow Cotter as he travels the country in his 1939 Ford Woodie, tracking down forgotten classic cars in barns and backyards. And Shell will be with Cotter for every mile providing fuels and Quaker State motor oil to power his Barn Find Hunter journey across America. In locations ranging from Savannah, Ga., to Napa, Calif., he finds everything from a shady, fenced yard full of vintage muscle to a British classic that traveled all the way from Australia.

Tom Cotter hits the road in his 1939 Ford Woodie during his "The Barn Find Hunter" web series.

"Shell is pleased to present the 'The Barn Finder Hunter' series featuring Shell fuels and Quaker State motor oil. We recognize the passion and dedication to classic cars within enthusiast communities," said Shell Lubricants Don Moser. "This enthusiasm is prevalent throughout our organization as well and we are happy to support Tom Cotter's search for those special cars across the country."

Cotter has written 11 automotive books, including the award-winning In the Barn series, and has contributed to the New York Times, Road & Track, and Hagerty magazine. He spent 25 years in automotive and auto racing public relations, working with some of the best-known sponsors in NASCAR, Indycar, NHRA and sports car racing.

"In this series, I aim to show viewers that there are still plenty of desirable cars that are hiding around the country, just waiting to be found," said Cotter. He has an eclectic car collection that includes several barn finds, including everything from the 1939 Ford Woodie he drives cross-country to an early Mini Cooper to a Cobra.
