Hi-Crush Issues Update Regarding Whitehall Incident, WDNR Test Results

HOUSTON, June 11, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hi-Crush Partners LP (NYSE:HCLP), or “Hi-Crush," today issued the following statement related to progress it is making on remediating the area in Trempealeau County impacted after a detention pond berm was intentionally breached as part of a successful effort to rescue a trapped worker at the Company’s Whitehall, Wi., facility:

“Hi-Crush continues to contribute significant resources and is making steady progress toward cleanup and remediation of the area, and is encouraged by the results. On June 6th, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) issued preliminary test results from surface water samples upstream and downstream of runoff near the release source and near entry of a creek into the Trempealeau River. Nominal impact on the river is evident in the initial test results. DNR confirmation that concentrations at the river meet surface water quality standards is consistent with our expectations. Further, it is positive that DNR continues to report no fish kills.

“Hi-Crush has provided DNR with our initial sampling results, which correlate well with the agency’s initial results.  We also performed sampling for acrylamide and, as presumed, no acrylamide was present [in the samples]. That is more good news for the community. Further, follow up sampling indicates a significant reduction in suspended solids in the waterways. Our runoff best-management practices are working as intended, and we will maintain those practices throughout our cleanup efforts.  We continue to perform additional sampling, and results will be shared with DNR when available. Regardless, we do not expect future sample results to show any issues of concern for the community; we expect conditions to keep improving. We will continue to focus on working with our partners in the community on cleanup and remediation.”
