July 4th, 2016, will mark the 240th year that the United States of America will celebrate its independence from England. While the two time periods could not be more polar opposites, 2016 is still marked with issues that the country struggled with back in 1776: hostile political environments, equal rights for all, and the threat of those who wish to impede on our freedom and our rights as free men and women.

The nation received the instructions as to the celebrations to take place during the holiday from one of the very men who helped lay the foundation for this country in 1776.

John Adams described in a letter to his wife Abigail, “I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews (sic), Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”

EnerCom and Oil & Gas 360® wish all of our readers and subscribers a Happy Independence Day.
