Korean PM Expresses Interest in Enhancing Cooperation With Egypt

South Korean Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn said his country is looking forward to enhancing cooperation with

Egypt
, especially in view of the deals and memos signed between the two sides.

On Thursday, President Abdel Fattah el Sisi headed to the Korean Cabinet headquarters to attend a plenary meeting with premier Hwang in the presence of delegations of both countries.

Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said Hwang welcomed Sisi on his first visit to

South Korea
, hailing the depth of bilateral ties.

Sisi stressed that

appreciates its relationship with
South Korea
which represents an example of economic and technological development.

Sisi underlined the importance of maintaining cooperation mechanisms between the two countries, especially those on finance, trade, business and foreign affairs scores.

Sisi hailed the cooperation deals and memos signed in various important domains, noting that more agreements will be signed on the fringe of the Egypt-Korean Business Council meeting.

Sisi underlined the importance of implementing projects of top priority to the Egyptian economy, especially infrastructure projects and Suez Canal ventures, noting that several Korean companies showed interest in cooperating with

.

The Korean premier stressed his government will work on encouraging investments in

Egypt
, especially in the fields of power generation and metro development.

The premier hailed what

Egypt
achieved under Sisi's leadership, referring to political stability and economic growth rates which reached 4.2 percent.

Sisi accentuated that the investment climate in

Egypt
is safe and stable, citing the legislations issued to encourage investments and improve the business climate.

Sisi noted that

Egypt
managed to overcome in a very short period the shortage in electricity and natural gas supplies to the industrial sector.

Sisi said he highly appreciated South Korean companies which boosted investments in

Egypt
after the January 2011 revolution.

seeks to restore South Korean tourism.

The Korean premier underlined keenness fostering tourism and cultural cooperation between both sides, noting that a Korean culture center was opened in

Egypt
in 2014.

He voiced hope that the center would play a vital role in bringing the two countries closer.

is keen on drawing on
Korea's
development and technology expertise, noting that an agreement on establishing an Egyptian-Korean technology college was signed.

He underlined the importance of exchanging visits between delegations of both countries in various domains to enhance cooperation.
