Landis+Gyr selected by CenterPoint Energy for Advanced Grid Analytics

Texas utility seeks to improve monitoring of asset loading across distribution system

ATLANTA, Sept. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Landis+Gyr has been selected by CenterPoint Energy, Inc.'s electric transmission and distribution subsidiary to provide an Advanced Grid Analytics solution to manage distribution transformer loading that tracks performance and delivers proactive guidance for improved transformer load management.

"Enhancing data analytics related to our distribution transformers not only increases our efficiency, but also provides proactive asset management strategies," said John Toubassi, Director of Advanced Metering Systems at CenterPoint. "One of the critical decision criteria was the maturity of the solution, and Landis+Gyr's AMI engineering analytics package has demonstrated performance at a number of utilities."

Landis+Gyr's analytics software will replace CenterPoint Energy's legacy transformer load management system. The deployment will analyze data from CenterPoint Energy's 2.3 million meters.

"Our solution provides CenterPoint with insights into transformer loading that can be utilized by many departments in the utility," said Dave Connaker, General Manager of Landis+Gyr's Analytics Solutions.
