"The Bright Horizons Scholarship is a wonderful platform for exhibiting the significant role science, technology, engineering and mathematics play in our daily lives," said David Hernandez, co-founder & CEO of Liberty Power. "Each year the applicants raise the bar a little higher. Their appetite for education, ideas for a more sustainable future and contributions to the energy community continue to supersede our expectations."

The Bright Horizons Scholarship has already awarded 10 students a total of $60,000 toward powering their dreams. This year, the scholarship program will award a total of $20,000 in the form of three scholarships valued at $10,000, $6,000, and $4,000. The winners of the 2016 Bright Horizons Scholarship will be announced at the USHCC National Convention on October 9-11 in Miami, Florida.

"The Bright Horizons Scholarship is a great vehicle for ensuring affordable education remains a priority, and specifically, in paving the way for students studying STEM," said USHCC Foundation Chairman, Nina Vaca. "This program has also strengthened the partnership between the USHCC Foundation and Liberty Power as we watch our shared venture bear fruit year after year." Students who are currently studying STEM at an accredited two or four-year university with an interest in the fields of energy or the environment are welcome to apply by July 29, 2016.
