Augmented Reality Technologies
mCloud Corp., provider of AssetCare™ solutions for managing
critical assets with secure mobile technology, announced today that it
has acquired Field Diagnostics Services, Inc. (FDSI) enabling game
changing Asset-Circle-of-Care for heating, ventilation and air
conditioning (HVAC) assets. FDSI pioneered deep diagnostics for HVAC
equipment, including a breakthrough in HVAC Unit Coordination technology
solely using smart thermostats, resulting in energy savings of 10% to
30%.
FDSI’s Google-based cloud platform will become the basis for mCloud’s AssetCare™
solutions that incorporates big data, deep analytics, machine learning,
real-time collaboration and communications, 3D Augmented Reality (AR),
best practice maintenance support and much more. The initial focus will
be on the monitoring the performance of HVAC units and mid-size wind
turbines. These will be extended to field service support, including
real-time video communications with experts and access to complete
equipment documentation. FDSI runs a 24/7 HVAC service support center
for its customers.
The FDSI Google-based cloud platform is the evolution of patented
developments stemming back to the founder’s research at Purdue
University, with US Department of Energy sponsored projects, and
embraced by numerous national account customers and several public
utilities, mainly in California, who encourage their customers to deploy
the technology to save energy and reduce peak demand. The underlying
technology has been proven and used for many years.
AssetCare™ cloud is available for the care of HVAC units, and
will be shortly available for mid-size wind turbines. Expected soon will
be new capabilities that includes leading edge Augmented Reality (AR)
technology with the highest mobile security standards.
“The FDSI technologies and capabilities provide mCloud with the proven
foundation that brings together people, data and knowledge to improve
the health and performance of critical assists,” said mCloud CEO Russ
McMeekin. “Having partnered with FDSI for many years, I am excited about
bringing our combined resources under mCloud to enhance the value we
deliver to our customers.”
“We’ve been pioneering diagnostic technologies and deep analytics that
improve the overall energy management of commercial facilities for many
years,” said FDSI CEO Todd Rossi. “Joining forces with mCloud enables us
to bring this to many more customers while simplifying support and
assistance to field service technicians. We are exciting about joining
mCloud on its mission to improve the care and performance of critical
assets such as commercial HVAC units.”
