Media Advisory - Interview and Photo Ops: Celebrate Kew Beach Junior Public School's solar launch at Green Energy Doors Open

TORONTO, Sept. 1, 2016 /CNW/ - On Saturday, September 10, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the beach community will celebrate a new solar project at Kew Beach Junior Public School. The event is being held in conjunction with Green Energy Doors Open, a province-wide showcase of sustainable energy projects organized by the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association. Various representatives will be on-hand to discuss the project including those from Kew Beach Junior Public School, Beach Community Energy Co-operative (BCEC), and Canada's leading green energy provider – Bullfrog Power.

WHAT:

A celebration to launch a community-owned solar rooftop array at Kew Beach Junior Public School.
The 225-panel, 72 kW solar project, in combination with the school's existing solar installation, will
generate and inject into the local grid the equivalent to one-third of the school's annual electricity use.




Media and community members are invited to the event which will include a green ribbon cutting,
complimentary refreshments and Bullfrog Power's giant inflatable frog. Additionally, representatives
at informational tables will be on-hand to explain the technology on display.
