HOUSTON, Dec. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, planning and consulting services, today announced that Cory Wilder has been appointed to Senior Vice President and Office Executive of the Houston, Texas, office. To meet the increased infrastructure demands throughout the state of Texas, Mr. Wilder will position the Houston office for growth by leveraging his extensive background in oil and gas as well as his diverse experience in other areas, such as highways.
With more than 23 years working for Michael Baker International, Mr. Wilder brings a deep background in operations, proven project management expertise and strong leadership experience to his new role that will be well-served in enhancing client relationships, driving growth and creating opportunities for team members. Mr. Wilder previously served as a Senior Vice President and National Pipeline Engineering Practice Lead. In his previous role, Mr. Wilder was responsible for technical oversight and execution of pipeline projects throughout the continental United States, Alaska and Canada.

Mr. Wilder brings a varied portfolio of experience to his new role, including civil, pipeline and transportation engineering. His civil engineering experience includes project management, planning, permitting, design, estimating, specifications, construction planning and construction management. He has a wide range of project experience including transportation and drainage structures, natural gas pipelines, border security infrastructure and superload transports. Mr. Wilder has also conducted planning, permitting, design, route selection, directionally drilled crossings, structural analysis, and management of complex multi-disciplined projects as part of his work in pipeline engineering. He also has performed analyses of highway structures for oversize and overweight loads, design and estimating for structure selection of highway bridges, design of bridges, design of retaining walls and noise walls, bridge inspection, design of storm drains and project management.
Mr. Wilder earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, and his Master of Science degree in Arctic Engineering from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
